You have to read almost all the way through it to get an idea of how much it will cost to obtain the parts. It turns out, there isn't a huge cost savings to building it yourself. So, this article is more of an FYI on how the things are made.
If you have the extra $$ to invest in night vision, you should consider it before purchasing yet another rifle. Just my opinion, anyway. The NV I have is just a Gen 1 monocular - not really very good, but fun to play with. Quote:

Then there are all the other expensive accoutrement that goes with the unit itself.A guy I know just spent $9K and still needs a bullets beam.
