Welcome to the site where the owners and members have had it with playing "nice" and being "inclusive" and "tolerant" of points of view that are destroying the fabric of what made this country great. The members here are sick and tired of politicians of all parties lying, deceiving, stealing, and pretending they are doing it all for the good of the country while selling out to special interests who have the set goal of destroying this country. We have had enough of career politicians who use their office only for personal gain, and who refuse to listen to the people who put them in office. The membership is no longer part of the silent majority who play nice and get along while getting screwed by anyone with a loud voice and an agenda. We will no longer allow anyone to piss down our back and tell us it's raining. And we like guns too.

Default Bond arms Cyclops derringer in 45-70

Wonder what firing this thing would do for my carpal tunnel?

Not a fan of the derringer, myself. I have a cousin who absolutely loves them. He always has one on his person, at least one. I'm sure he's already ordered one of these.

That's insane putting that round in a derringer.

I don't own a derringer, but wouldn't mind having one. That said... The ideal caliber would be no greater than .38 special, preferably .22LR or .22 MAG.

I was able to handle one of these today at a gun show. It was like grabbing a hold of a brick.

Novelty at best, although I bet it would take a .410 shotshell, which would be more useful than a .45-70.

Yeah, but for less money you could get a Taurus Judge. Four more rounds. I think it would make a pretty good varmint or snake gun while hiking through the woods.

I'd be interested to see some chronograph data on this vs say a .45 Long Colt in same length barrels.

Bond Arms 45/70 = 4.5" barrel
45/70 cartridge spec is 2.55" OAL
45 Colt spec is 1.6" OAL

Usually 1" isn't significant in gaining velocity, but when you're looking at tip of bullet to muzzle distances of 1.95" vs 2.9" suddenly 1" is roughly a 50% gain. I have a feeling the barrel is going to be so short it's just not going to make enough pressure to justify itself over a pistol cartridge.

Go with the 45 Colt, you get 2 shots instead of 1, and can still shoot 410 shot shell.

That thing would cause blood loss at both ends if it was fired in anger

I’ll be honest

I doubt I would ever buy the thing unless I was rich and bored. But it’s interesting someone came up with it, wonder what the thought process was in deciding to make it.

I have a Cobra 32 mag derringer, good to throw in your pocket on your way out the door if in a hurry. It is about as big of derringer I would want to fire safely.
P.S. would not recommend a Cobra derringer unless you have a trigger job done on it. Had one of the worst trigger pulIs I have felt before doing mine.
