20 years ago I added a 1943 91/30 and a 1948 M44 to my collection.
The M44 looked like it had never been shot. I personally like them. And I have Mausers and a 1903A3 to compare them to.

I have a few Garands and Mosins. Although the Garands are far superior rifles in every measurable category, I like shooting the Mosins more. Not sure why.

I'm a Mauser type, have quite a few Swedes and a couple of pre-war Kraut K98ks. Back about ten years ago a friend with an FFL bought a few cases of 91/30s and gave me first pick. I came away with a 1936 hex receiver Tula. Bought 3 spam cans of 7.62X54 for like $75for 440. It's a good shooter, but I haven't busted into the second spam can.
Mausers just spoil you.
