Welcome to the site where the owners and members have had it with playing "nice" and being "inclusive" and "tolerant" of points of view that are destroying the fabric of what made this country great. The members here are sick and tired of politicians of all parties lying, deceiving, stealing, and pretending they are doing it all for the good of the country while selling out to special interests who have the set goal of destroying this country. We have had enough of career politicians who use their office only for personal gain, and who refuse to listen to the people who put them in office. The membership is no longer part of the silent majority who play nice and get along while getting screwed by anyone with a loud voice and an agenda. We will no longer allow anyone to piss down our back and tell us it's raining. And we like guns too.

Default Has anyone tried those 60 round ATI mags made in Germany?

I know Surefire 60 round mags had some issues, but has anyone tried the German made 60 round mags in their AR? I guess they're priced fairly cheap (on sale for $30 at Atlantic right now) because they are banned in Europe, so the Germans dumped them on the US.

I have one SureFire 60 round magazine that was a gift & 3 Magpul drums. Neither have given me any problems ever running in my Colt M-16A2. Loaded they add a lot of weight

boon its like my Nam LRRP bud told me 'Their are two people in a bad situation. The quick and the dead.'
Guys used to strap two 20 round mags together which is not that bad but I never did. I chose the move quick. Think of the length now also? Technical situation which we hope were never in. Laying prone your weapon will be well off the ground.
If yah can't hit your target with 10 or 20 rounds? Go back to the range. Now a truck load of zombies coming at yah is a different story. Spray and pray have lots of rounds.
The MAGPULL D-60 would be my choice as you mention. Condensed and plenty of rounds with a lot of good reviews.

The SureFire is no longer then a standard 30 round magazine. I could be wrong but IIRC the run is not any longer then a 30 round magazine I one only 2 twenty round magazines one is in the sealed plastic bag from Colt the other is a 20 round H&K Maritime 20 round. I actually wish I had more as the 20 is great when shooting off a bench with a rest or bipod. 20 round Colt magazines are ridiculously priced, while Okay's are out of stock.

20 round Colt magazines. Colt sub contracted the mags back in the 1960s to a small machine shop in Conn.. Vietnam was going full tilt and they were burning the midnight oil I am sure keeping up with demand.
So guess where that factory 'shop' was? About 5 miles from our family home in Connecticut. Be damned I only found that out about a dozen years or so ago.
No big deal I just thought it was interesting.
