Welcome to the site where the owners and members have had it with playing "nice" and being "inclusive" and "tolerant" of points of view that are destroying the fabric of what made this country great. The members here are sick and tired of politicians of all parties lying, deceiving, stealing, and pretending they are doing it all for the good of the country while selling out to special interests who have the set goal of destroying this country. We have had enough of career politicians who use their office only for personal gain, and who refuse to listen to the people who put them in office. The membership is no longer part of the silent majority who play nice and get along while getting screwed by anyone with a loud voice and an agenda. We will no longer allow anyone to piss down our back and tell us it's raining. And we like guns too.

Default Who else carries a multi-tool?

I've recently gotten to where I carry a multi-tool everyday. I've always owned various Gerber models, because I'm cheap I guess. I finally took the plunge and bought a Leatherman Wave+. You definitely get what you pay for. My Gerbers were decent, but I can feel a huge leap in quality with the Leatherman. One thing I really like about this Leatherman is you can access your two main blades, one handed, without having to open up the tool. I still carry a Gerber at work, but outside of that, the Leatherman is always going to be on my belt.

What about everybody else? Carry a multi-tool? If so, whatcha got?

Leatherman Wave for as long as I can remember. I'm on my 3rd belt sheath, and it's been back to the factory twice. Don't remember why the first time, but the second time because I broke the scissors (they are very delicate). Both times they refurbished the entire tool and returned it to me. This last time, they offered to replace it with a more updated model (with the removable wirecutter jaws), but since my now-deceased ex-father-in-law gave this one to me, it has sentimental value.

"The truly dangerous man dresses inconspicuously and is soft- spoken. He walks away from most confrontations. The only time you learn that the truly dangerous man is mad at you is a split second before you die, for he never fights. He only kills. The truly dangerous man knows that fighting is what children do and killing is what men do." - Charley Reese 1986

With my previous Gerber, I've used the pliers several times and most recently, used the philips head screwdriver to put on a new license plate.

Got one in a plastic ammo box in the truck with a credit card sized tool, a big Buck Knife folder in a synthetic snap cover sheath, tire gauge, radiator fluid tester, terry cloth packs from Harbor Freight and other assorted

Next to that one is a plastic ammo box with an air compressor that plugs into the cigarette lighter.

Since it’s a knife forum I keep a finger knife in the console and a 4Patriots “survival” knife in the glove box that has had its flimsy sheath augmented with a plastic liner and Gorilla tape wrapping. Stiffening it made the cheesy straps to mount it horizontally along a belt actually work. Added a conventional belt loop while I was going ape shit with the Gorilla tape.

I banned my maintenance technicians from carrying them. They were trying to fix everything in the plant with them. All they were doing was ruining all the fasteners in the plant.

I have 3 of the Gerbers that I was issued over the years where I used to work & 1 that came in a military issued tool box that had a broken main jaw.

The company I worked for came up with a tool policy that if you broke a tool, the company would replace it. There were 15 mechanics & I&E techs that figured out if you bought a Gerber tool thru the company & you "broke" it, the company would buy you a new one & you surrendered the old one.

The foreman would then finish destroying the Gerber. After a while, he got too busy to destroy the tools & I would disassemble them for disposal in the scrap bin. Knowing what broke, those parts were saved for future usage.

After the maintenance supervisor realized he bought 62 sets of gerber tools, the tools were removed from the replaceable list. I still have a few replacement parts after 23 years there, but have no idea where I put them.
