Welcome to the site where the owners and members have had it with playing "nice" and being "inclusive" and "tolerant" of points of view that are destroying the fabric of what made this country great. The members here are sick and tired of politicians of all parties lying, deceiving, stealing, and pretending they are doing it all for the good of the country while selling out to special interests who have the set goal of destroying this country. We have had enough of career politicians who use their office only for personal gain, and who refuse to listen to the people who put them in office. The membership is no longer part of the silent majority who play nice and get along while getting screwed by anyone with a loud voice and an agenda. We will no longer allow anyone to piss down our back and tell us it's raining. And we like guns too.

Default Sliding Breech Double Barrel Shotguns......

I happened across this video a little bit ago. I've never even heard of this type, much less seen one.

Would kind of make me skeptical shooting that weapon. That slide is just locked in position just by that small metal tab if I am seeing it correctly??
Metal can break or wear sheet happens. That tab goes and someone would have a bolt stuck in their cranium when the weapon was fired.. Think I would pass on that gun..

My feelings too, not much holding that slide.

Being the 1880s time frame for the first production, I would expect that they were still using black powder shotshells, since the more modern smokeless powder wasn't in widespread use yet. The BP shells would have had a much lower pressure, and whatever was holding the breach locked in place was probably more than sufficient. I'm sure it was beefed up over time as the smokeless powder became more widespread in use.

Interesting design but I'd still prefer the break barrel design. Think it makes for easier extraction and loading

Cool-looking shotgun. I've never seen or heard of that particular design, though like others have said, probably not a very strong action for modern smokeless powder.

The Darne has been around for decades. An interesting concept that just never caught on. It's just an overly complex and expensive "solution" to manufacture, to solve a non existent problem.
