Kale.

As part of a "thank you" I got a package of Russian Red Kale in my seed order. I like kale soup, etc., so no problem. I've got about 40 plants that need to be transferred to the main garden from the starter bed.Anybody else like the stuff?
It's supposed to be extremely winter hardy, unlike my Russian girlfriend.

Not sure that I like the taste all the time but good for what the body needs. Kale is very hardy in the cold.

We have a dozen Lacinato kale plants in our garden. We have been eating from them for several months now.

We eat it in soups, steamed, mixed with other greens, salads and on sandwiches in place of lettuce. I'll strip the leaves from the plants before it gets too hot and chop and freeze them for future use.

I like it better than Swiss chard.

It's good dehydrated in the oven with a little toasted sesame seed oil to eat as chips. Don't know the exact way my wife makes it, but I sure like the taste.

I like Swiss Chard. My Italian grandpa would cut the stems off, dip in beaten egg, roll in Italian bread crumbs, and fry them. That was delicious.

+ 1 on the oven crispy kale, my wife has made it and she doesn't get much when I get into it before she does.
