The one on the right does look like an ILS indicator (Instrument Landing System) for those that don't know it gives you azimuth and lateral guidance to the touchdown zone of the runway while landing.

I always assumed it was there to give an indication of the vehicle's 'degree of lean' when off-roading.
As my four-by usage has mainly been dragging other people's cars/vans/trucks out of muddy environments, I have had no need for it. |
