It was time for a new tube on the Sako AV I've had for the last 31 years. I got the gun back from the gunsmith with a new 1:9 twist Brux SS Bull Sporter, cut to 26" and chambered in 300 WM.
The stainless tube, blued action, and camo pattern on the McMillan carbon fiber stock didn't blend well, so I stripped the gun and put a Duracoat finish on it. It's my first time using Duracoat, and I have to admit, it's an easy paint to work with. ![]() ![]() ![]() Next up, might as well paint the scope before I mount it. |

Scope mounted, bore sighted, and the level plumbed. Next week I hope to get down to the range, run it through some break in cycles of shoot / clean / shoot, and then sight in with some factory ammo. I'll keep using factory ammo until I have around 100 pieces of once fired, then I'll work up a hunting load.
