Welcome to the site where the owners and members have had it with playing "nice" and being "inclusive" and "tolerant" of points of view that are destroying the fabric of what made this country great. The members here are sick and tired of politicians of all parties lying, deceiving, stealing, and pretending they are doing it all for the good of the country while selling out to special interests who have the set goal of destroying this country. We have had enough of career politicians who use their office only for personal gain, and who refuse to listen to the people who put them in office. The membership is no longer part of the silent majority who play nice and get along while getting screwed by anyone with a loud voice and an agenda. We will no longer allow anyone to piss down our back and tell us it's raining. And we like guns too.

Question Long Slide 1911A1?

What's your thoughts on them?

I have two Springfield Armory 1911A1's. One is a 'GI' model (no longer made last I checked, with a couple mods, but I still have the parts to return it to original), and a 'Loaded' model with no mods other than Pachmyr grips. Both are chambered in .45 ACP. I love 'em both, and shoot them fairly regularly.

Ever since I enlisted in the Army (2/79), and was introduced to the 1911 platform, I've wanted to get one of 'each size'. Well, obviously that hasn't happened since I was 17 when I enlisted, and I'm just shy of 61 now. But I've always loved the look of a Long Slide. Why, I dunno.....

Seriously, do you own one, do you like it, would you recommend buying one, and if 'yes', which brand/model?

I have had several AMT, long slide hardballers, all in stainless steel. They functioned flawlessly. Does someone now make a long slide 1911A1?

I know Springfield Armory used to have a model one could buy. I don't know if they still do or not.

Thank you for your input on AMT Hardballer's. I have a good friend that has a 'Gov't size', in SS.

I saw a new Springfield GI in stainless on the shelf today. I’ve been eyeballing a Colt Series 70 Custom Classic I believe it’s called? Has the old roll marks and a hand-fit National Match barrel. I just really don’t need to spend the money on one.

Sorry to dredge up an old thread but my sons been bugging me about a 1911 ( amongst other guns he dreams of me buying for him).

1911 long slide is easily in my top 20 for sexy guns. I’ve never had one, but I wouldn’t kick it out of my safe if one snuck in there.

I had an AMT Skipper years ago. It was a fine little auto.

This is my Springfield Armory Long Slide. It's the one on top. The Range Officer is on the bottom.

That long slide is a beautiful piece.

Would love to pick up one, but unless I get a budget Tisa it’s not in the immediate future.
