Winchester 3000 20 Ga.
A former coworker called me today, asking if I knew of anyone interested in a Winchester 3000 20 Ga. shotgun. From what he says, it's about 8 years old, and he's looking for get $300 for it. His dad bought it new, and he received it about 3 years ago, after his dad passed. It most likely hasn't had more than 100 shells through the barrel.
Is it worth it, and should I buy it? Thanks. |

Smith & Wesson produced a 3000 model. Maybe that's what he was talking about.

There's a pawn shop about 5 miles from my house has a S&W 3000 12 ga for $325 That's pawn shop asking price, which may be more than I could get if I tried to talk them down.
I'd say your friend did his homework and knows approximately what the retail value is. $300 isn't a deal, but it's not a rip-off either |

I wouldn't buy it for $300 because it has been discontinued for decades potentially making parts harder to find. Besides; it's arguably no better or worse than a run-of-the-mill 870.
