I understand most of the unfortunate stories of losing every last gun involves a boat accident but mine were all lost on a Northwest Airlines flight to Anchorage Alaska. You see, I was flying up there to meet some buddies for a Grizzly bear hunt and I wasn't sure which gun to bring so I brought all 65 of them. I figured I'd make the decision once up there. Anyway, we were flying along somewhere over the Northern Territories 4 hrs into the flight when all of a sudden a loud bang was heard by every soul on board. The oxygen masks fell from the ceiling with a white misty fog permeating the cabin. I struggled trying to put my mask on and felt the aircraft (a Boeing 757) pitch down in a death defying emergency decent to 14,000'. Once the fog cleared and the aircraft stabilized we were told over the intercom that we had an an explosive decompression......(duh, like I didn't know that!) and we'd be making an emergency landing into Yellowknife Airport. The airplane overran the runway and skidded about 1000' past the end into some scrub tearing off the landing gear causing us to skid on the belly to a rough & bumby stop. A small fire broke out from the right wing where the engine ripped off and quickly spread to the fuselage. By this time the pilots ran out of the cockpit screaming loudly to evacuate the plane. Moments later, after taking a wild ride down the slide I stood shivering in the cold without a jacket watching people screaming and streaming out the now engulfed wreckage. Several explosions erupted from the cargo hold... no doubt my 400,000 rds of ammo contributed to the conflageration. I had to step back several hundred feet as the aircraft continued to burn and explode. I just stood there in shock lucky to be alive but stunned at the realization that all my guns and ammo were gone.
And that's the story of how I lost every gun I own. |

I left all my guns in Afghanistan. Hey, if SloJoe can do it, why can't I?
