Slugs through choke
I’ve owned two 12 gauge shotguns in my life and both of them were unchoked riot guns for slugs. I have since rid myself of them after determining pump actions are not for me.
I just ordered a semi auto 12 gauge that will come with a choke I fully intend to only shoot slugs or 00 buck through it. What choke would those of you that value your face, hands and weapons use in this application? Or should I remove the choke when shooting slugs?

I'd go with something like Ray posted above. If you just take the choke out, you'll wind up leading the choke threads. So, think of that as a thread protector.
I have shot a slug through a full choked barrel with no adverse affects. Once. I wouldn't make a habit of it, though.
