They are sold out of about...well....everything.

In nearly 40 years of gun dealing...I have NEVER seen the marketplace so devoid of products.

Are people gonna storm DC with 1873 lever actions and cowboy action loads?

Ahhhh...SPURT!
A smartly dressed US Government employee dropped off my 1873 lever gun this morning. THIS is one of the better looking toys in my stash....as far as colorful goes. LOVE the color casing. Never had an octagonal barrel anything before... The stocks are straight grain walnut finished to a hi luster. It is snuggled in next to my Yellowboy and my 1894, Win., XTR. Lever guns are a whole new dope addiction for me. THAT is one purty rifle. |

My latest purchase is to pretty to shoot.
I didn't know that some early Winchesters had a positive "lock" on the hand loop cocking lever. It twists to engage /lock down the lever...twist it to unlock it. Neither my model 94 Win, nor my 1866 Win, have one. Huh. |

Next time I take it out to fondle it...I will try and remember to do a close in shot of the lever lock.
