Welcome to the site where the owners and members have had it with playing "nice" and being "inclusive" and "tolerant" of points of view that are destroying the fabric of what made this country great. The members here are sick and tired of politicians of all parties lying, deceiving, stealing, and pretending they are doing it all for the good of the country while selling out to special interests who have the set goal of destroying this country. We have had enough of career politicians who use their office only for personal gain, and who refuse to listen to the people who put them in office. The membership is no longer part of the silent majority who play nice and get along while getting screwed by anyone with a loud voice and an agenda. We will no longer allow anyone to piss down our back and tell us it's raining. And we like guns too.

Yes Sir. Every 'carry gun' I have, I've ran a minimum of 500 rounds through it before cleaning (after the initial take down, cleaning & lube), and if it had any sort of malfunction, the 'round count' started over after a good take down, inspection & cleaning....before I actually carried it daily.

My Remington 1911 R1S was not built by the typewriter company, it needed the feed ramp polished and after that was done she purred like a kitten.

This was won on a 5 dollar ticket at a gun bash to help raise money for a local volunteer fire company.

I wouldn't pay $2k for a RR 1911, BUT that's only because I can't currently part with that kinda cash (still rebuilding after hurricane Sally and insurance has been ... disappointing). That said, though, I'd love to have one. The dept I retired from got several 1911s from the Army via their DRMO program and I got issued one, Remington-Rand right when my normal duty pistol (H&K USP) started having problems. I toted that gun for a couple years as my duty pistol, only stopping when we had to carry only the issued pistol (SIG). I hated turning that gun in when I retired.

See on that note and as to price. Hitchcock ran a $500 Rock Island 1911 .45 side by side with a custom $$ high end .45. Now he is a pretty good shot with his weapons and handles them like a pro.
Well be danged that $500 RR did all the big boy did and stayed right up with it and Hitchcock was impressed. Not selecting RR that is just what he used for his shoot test.
Hell my Chinese Norinco I got many moons ago for around $300 I am still trying to find something wrong with it or that I do not like.
So I guess I am saying price tag be damned. If its a shooter all around functions well then guys are going to want one without looking at that $$ tag.

Exactly. But after doing some research, I'll be damned if I pay that much for it.

I was at the same Fun Shop last Sunday. The same pistol (I spoke of earlier in this thread), was STILL in the display case.
