Survivor of Grizzly Bear Attack in Dupuyer, Montana Used .44 Magnum

My bear country load is Hornady XTP with 300 gr. bullets. Been looking at those solids, though. Just haven't tried them out, yet.

My bear load is also a 300 grain XTP but in 454 Casull.

My problem with bear handguns goes back 30 years. I have had them in 44 mag, 454 Casull and 500 Linebaugh. They are HEAVY. I travel light, fast and far. A heavy handgun disrupts that plan. So I take an aluminum frame 38. That means I probably will not survive a bear attack. Whoever finds the 38 next to my skeleton can have it.

My 454 is a boat anchor weighing in at 55oz
Its never been in the field, a range toy is what it is.

I crept in to ten yards and heart shot a bear. Less than fifty yards later he tipped over. No one can believe the deadly effects of my Slock Master blow gun. In this video I will not only show you an amazing kill sequence but give you specifics on hunting big game with a blow gun

Don't be a weenie, Tim. Use a Bowie knife to make it fair. The bear has sharp claws and teeth. The Bowie knife makes it even.

One of the last professional bear hunters in Southern Arizona never carried anything bigger than his Ruger Single Six .22LR. He'd go into bear caves with it and pop the bear behind the ear. He was also my brother-in-law's uncle. Cancer is what did him in, not a bear.

For me, I believe in cheating - the bigger the bullet, the better.

500G, make it at least a .357. with a .38...wait until the bear opens the mouth, stick your arm in there and pull the trigger.
