Gun or bear spray either way you best be damn quick on your choice. I am not a hunter or bear expert by any means but I interact with them a few times a week here.
Are they fast? Fact: bears can run more than 60 kilometers an hour, and they can do it up hills, down hills or along a slope. To put that in perspective, that's 15 m/sec or 50 ft/sec – more than twice as fast as we can run. In fact, a bear can outrun a racehorse over short distances but has little endurance. http://www.bearsmart.com/about-bears/dispelling-myths/ I go out and chase them from the trash and they kind of waddle off and laugh at me. But the dog will get them to moving like fast. 50 feet is 16.66 yards. Now one second? Sheet. I challenge anyone to draw a pistol or start spraying if that bear is that close to you. Your frigging toast.

Just to reduce the occurrence of bears
charging hunters...we should feed liberals to them...then they would be laying around letting their meals digest, and they wouldn’t pose such a threat... |
