If You See This Invasive “Miracle” Weed, Don’t Kill It, Eat It

I used to see it all the time in the Dallas area but I haven't seen any here in north Louisiana.
There is another plant called spurge that looks very much like purslane but it is poisonous so make sure you can recognize the difference before you eat some.

Gots to be kidding me.
I have that stuff all over here. I reckon I'll have to give it a try. Well, actually I'll get my son in law to try it first. Just in case the article is wrong. And by the way, certain varieties of Portulaca look like Purslane, too.

Most of the weds in my yard have needles on them.....some thick and corse...some small and fine
you need a heavy pair of leather work gloves to pull them.

That plant grows prolifically here. Hit it with a weed eater and everywhere a leaf lands a new plant will grow.
I use to pull them up and try to keep them out of the lawn, I finally gave up.

I have it in front of my house, but I'm not eating it as it is growing where the dog always pees.

No wonder it is also known as "Pig Weed" because the pigs love it.
