Tomato Soup & Grilled Cheese Sammiches.....
I like the combination, especially if I've been out in the cold or, if I'm just 'feeling cold' when sitting here at home. I use 1 can of Campbell's Tomato Soup and about 3/4 of a can of milk when I make my soup.
I was perusing social media one evening and saw one of my friends had posted a pic of his large cup of tomato soup and a grilled cheese sammich. One of the comments on his post said, "I add a 1/4" thick slice of Velveeta, and it melts when the soup is hot. It's pretty good." I dunk my sammiches in the tomato soup prior to taking a bite of the grilled cheese sammich. But I had never thought of adding cheese to the soup. We don't normally buy Velveeta but, we always have some sliced America Cheese for sammiches on hand. So one evening, I made a can of soup and added 4 slices (I tore them into smaller pieces so they'd melt faster). It was pretty good! The other day while at the grocery store, I noticed they had a bunch of different cheeses on sale. Along with the stuff I bought that trip, I also grabbed a block of Bongard's 'Bacon' Cheese. I like it on sammiches or just plain. I'm gonna add about a 3/8ths" thick slice (cubed), to my soup this evening. https://www.bongards.com/products/bo...od-block-10-1/ |

Campbell's Tomato soup and grilled cheese...an old favorite of mine also. Quick & easy. Yummy in the tummy.
