Welcome to the site where the owners and members have had it with playing "nice" and being "inclusive" and "tolerant" of points of view that are destroying the fabric of what made this country great. The members here are sick and tired of politicians of all parties lying, deceiving, stealing, and pretending they are doing it all for the good of the country while selling out to special interests who have the set goal of destroying this country. We have had enough of career politicians who use their office only for personal gain, and who refuse to listen to the people who put them in office. The membership is no longer part of the silent majority who play nice and get along while getting screwed by anyone with a loud voice and an agenda. We will no longer allow anyone to piss down our back and tell us it's raining. And we like guns too.

Default Four Hunters in Montana Mauled by Grizzly Bear in Three Attacks

A pistol on my side, with a caliber that begins with a "4" and ends with a "4".

Quote:
In less than two weeks, four hunters have been attacked by grizzly bears in Montana. All four hunters were attacked in the same small stretch of wilderness in the Gravelly Mountains of the Rocky Mountain state.

It’s possible that a single bear is responsible for all of the attacks, although wildlife officials aren’t sure at this point. All of the hunters survived the attacks with moderate to severe injuries and were treated locally.

The fourth bear attack victim was an out-of-state hunter from Ohio. Previously, three Montana hunters were hurt in two separate bear attacks earlier this month on the same day, September 16.

ADD; People wonder why the hunters just don't shoot the bears when their attacking? In my virtual weekly job of chasing the black bears away from my garbage here understand one thing. If they get close in an ambush situation when I say fast I cannot describe or underestimate their speed until you witness it.
Some run most just laugh at me and keep eating even when I bounce a beer bottle over their cranium.
If Mr. bear gets within 20 or 30 feet of you and charges? Unless your finger is on the trigger and pointing guess what? Unless your Wild Bill Hitchcock fast? You ain't going to react fast enough.
Their short 0 to 60 speed has to be seen to be believed.

Pistols & Bear Spray Stop Two Bear Attacks on Archery Hunters in Montana

Two pairs of archery hunters were attacked by a grizzly bear or bears in Montana, in the Gravelly Mountains. The attacks occurred within 11 hours and one mile from each other. Because of the proximity, it is suspected the same bear was involved in both attacks.

The attacks are remarkably similar with an interesting difference. In one, the hunters used bear spray. In the other, they used 9 mm handguns. From mt.gov:

A 9mm is only going to make the bear angrier. 44 magnum at least or take a long gun with you.

The smallest I carry is a .357 Mag in bear country, but I prefer a .44 mag. A .45 ACP hits about like a .357 mag, so I've been known to carry a 1911 as well.

Old Sam Foster, one of the last of the professional bear hunters in Arizona, only carried a .22 revolver. Crazy son-of-a-gun. He'd go right into a bear cave and put one behind the critter's ear.

Cancer got him when the bears couldn't. May he R.I.P.

Lot of those bow and arrow guys swear by their arrows to do the job Fred. Hell their bringing the .9 mm was probably an afterthought and not really considered necessary I am guessing?
Like Mr. Pogo keeps saying forget the gun "Bear Spray" is where its at. I think Denali park in Alaska, think that's the name our Alaska member will know? Well they had a moratorium on Griz. hunting to bring the numbers back up.
Hunters were shooting deer and elk and doing the next steps of gutting and the cleaning. Well guess who heard the dinner bells? Good guess Mr. Grizzly's. The bears were associating guns to not getting shot at but dinner is on the table lets go eat.
They had lost complete fear of humans and guns and just like I say knew food was where that bang was. They were scaring the hell out of hunters coming to them and their kill.
Wardens had to go out and shoot the bears with rubber bullets and fire their guns to let them know the guns can hurt them.
Bottom line yah ain't gonna outrun a bear so in their backyard be careful.
