Welcome to the site where the owners and members have had it with playing "nice" and being "inclusive" and "tolerant" of points of view that are destroying the fabric of what made this country great. The members here are sick and tired of politicians of all parties lying, deceiving, stealing, and pretending they are doing it all for the good of the country while selling out to special interests who have the set goal of destroying this country. We have had enough of career politicians who use their office only for personal gain, and who refuse to listen to the people who put them in office. The membership is no longer part of the silent majority who play nice and get along while getting screwed by anyone with a loud voice and an agenda. We will no longer allow anyone to piss down our back and tell us it's raining. And we like guns too.

Default Who reloads 8mm Mauser?

Got the brass tumbling right now. I load to the correct European specs not the downloaded U.S. specs which gives it the power of a 30-30 round.

8mm Mauser is 97% of a 30.06 round so I picked up some 139 grain soft point bullets made by Prvi Partisan. I'm gonna use Hodgdons BL-C2 powder and Remington 9 and 1/2 primers.
cases are a mixed batch of 5 different makers.

Should be running around 3000 feet per second.

It's fun to play with the old school toys on occasion.

I had set myself up to reload the caliber, but then a big batch of ammo came in from overseas and sold stupid cheap, so I bought stupid quantities and never did start reloading it.

I wanted some soft point non-corrosive ammo for groundhogs or deer, most of my loads are Hornaday 150 grain Interlock bullets but wanted to give these Prvi Partisan 139 grain soft points a try.

I bought a box of soft points a while back, that I think was Prvi Partisan 170's or some such. I'd like to say it was for deer, but it was for a turkey shoot that I got called a miss on the previous year. They hung a colored water filled milk jug out at an unknown distance on a hillside. A hit to the jug was worth a turkey. I estimated the distance at 200-225 yards. Only iron sights were allowed. Anyway, I hit that bottle with a FMJ, but it passed right through the jug where it clipped it. You could see the water level in the jug dropping as it was draining, but they scored it a miss and would not argue the fact. In fact, they even rode their quad up the hill to replace the bottle before the next guy shot. I figured with a soft point the following year, I'd nail it, but then I moved and never got to try it out.

I got gypped on that one, and my brother-in-law got gypped on the pistol range. He used a Ruger Single Six in .22. The target was at 15 yards and was scored on an NRA bullseye type centerfire target. A turkey was awarded to the best score for a 3 shot string in a group of 5 shooters. Everyone else was shooting centerfire pistols and were all over their targets. My BIL put two shots touching in the bullseye, but the scorers couldn't find the third hole. Well, when shooting a group that tight on that big of a target, you know that third shot went through the same hole. They DQ'd him, saying he missed the target. You could see where one of the holes had two shots through it, as it was slightly oblonged.

Yeah, it was a fun turkey shoot, but rigged as hell so the friends and family of the VFW guys running it all went home with a bird or a ham.

I was reloading 9mm, 30 carbine, and 38 special up until our place got flooded. Been in repair mode for the last month now. Plan on reloading some 6.5 Creedmore when I get the free time.

The Hornaday 150 grain Interlock bullets for 8mm Mauser work great on deer, my son has nailed a couple different bucks with his Yugoslav M24/47 Mauser and they go nowhere other than down.

My dad loaded a shitload of the stuff and I inherited enough to deer hunt from here to eternity.
One thing I've never owned is a complete Mauser 98 in shooting condition.

Grafs has Prvi Partisan 139 grain soft point point .323 diameter bullets in stock for reloading.

I loaded up a 100 but haven't tried them yet... my guess is there pushing around 3000 FPS. They should work great for deer or groundhogs.
