My first trip to town, Jonesboro, Arkansas, was in a horse drawn wagon; I was 2 and remember it well; the next time I 'went' anywhere was from Jonesboro to San Antonio, TX, on a train pulled by a steam engine and it was the first time I had a talking encounter with a black lady in the train station (She kindly informed me that I had wondered into the colored section and then gently led me back to where my mom was sitting and it was a good experience for a 5/6 year old boy).

First wife's dad owned a Cesna 190 airplane, yellow & white colors. Radial engine.
In the 1950's I think....he drove a new Oliver tractor, with a Detroit inline 6-71 diesel...pulling a 20' travel trailer trailer....with a 500 gallon DF 2 fuel tank affixed to the back of the tractor, from Marion,Ohio...across the USA....up the Alcan highway to Alaska....and back. There was an Oliver tractor sponsorship. He also got to keep the tractor....still had it sitting in the barn of his 400 acre hobbyfarm when I started fucking and marrying his daughter. He was some kind of honcho with ODOT...or something. He was a WWII Vet...us Army, OCS. Was in Europe. He had two pristine Mauser G98 rifles with laminated stocks...several lugers, German helmets....etc. His son was in the USAF.... a dope head boozer, spoiled daddy's boy....and was a fuck-up. Daddy used influence....to keep sonny out of Leavenworth. Janice, my wife was 5'2"....big blue eyes and a figure that was playboy material. The most sexually focused female I have ever known. Horny...24-7. Anytime, anyplace. Every guys eyes were on her. Perfect ass....long blonde hair. She was like a coin operated fucking machine. I went to Vietnam....she ran off with some Jughead biker loser. Had a shit life and died penniless, suffering a stroke that paralyzed her Left side....as a ward of the state. I drove to Marion to attend her funeral service. She was still pretty after all the years. That was in 1999, I think. Sad. But kind of satisfying in a mentally ill, love/hate kind of way. There were three people at her funeral. One was her daughter, the other was an attendant from the home she died in. Yes...very sad. I am so lucky not to have knocked her up. Them BC pills worked their magic. She was fun...... |

Lifelong boyhood friend has two footlockers CRAMMED with WWII GI, Nazi bringbacks. Uniforms, helmets, daggers, medals, couple lugers in original holsters...etc., his pop bought back from Pattons 3rd Armor in Europe.
We years ago, took a dagger with Nazi stuff all over it..." Blood & Iron"....it had a dark blood red Handle...long time ago...to the biggest gun show in Ohio... when it was still being held at the Convention Center by the airport in Cleveland. There are/were, a couple exhibitors who buy and sell Nazi stuff. We showed one the Nazi dagger. We were told that it was a reproduction and he offered $50.00 for it. The geek had several on display just like it for a whole lot more $$$$ that he said were vintage and real. I asked him how he could tell it was a repop... He told both of us to get away from his table. My buddy and I both know that the Nazi stuff had been sitting in trunks since 1945. His pop pulled them out and showed us both the stuff onetime, when we were both 11-12 years old. Those trunks were CRAMMED. Fucking dishonest assholes. |

~ Off To Texas ~
For some reason we would take the train from Jonesboro, Arkansas, to Memphis, TN, and then on to Texas...from the very first time it was my dearest prayer that the engines were heading out when we boarded...otherwise, walking past them heading in was like entering a dragon's den for al 5/6 year old...without fail if they were headed in they would vent steam when I was walking by and scare the living shit out of me. I'm not sure I ever got over it but keep in mind, modern rolling stock was not allowed into the South after the Great War of Northern Aggression and it was only during and after WW-II that this changed...we were riding in cars made in the 1880's being pulled by steam; first electric diesel I saw was downright like seeing a space ship...exciting!

A Georgia couple was celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary when they were tragically killed after an Amtrak train derailed in Montana.
Passengers Don Varnadoe, 74, and Margie Varnadoe, 72, were identified as two of the three victims who died in the accident, the Associated Press reported. The couple was killed when the train derailed around 4 p.m. https://people.com/human-interest/ge...nt-in-montana/ That's a shame. The couple was from southern Georgia (USA) north of Jax celebrating their 50th anniversary. What are the odds?

Will the NTSB cover up the real cause of the derailment....if....it was deliberate sabotage?
Should start using those "green steel," rails ....from," Atlas Shrugged." |
