Welcome to the site where the owners and members have had it with playing "nice" and being "inclusive" and "tolerant" of points of view that are destroying the fabric of what made this country great. The members here are sick and tired of politicians of all parties lying, deceiving, stealing, and pretending they are doing it all for the good of the country while selling out to special interests who have the set goal of destroying this country. We have had enough of career politicians who use their office only for personal gain, and who refuse to listen to the people who put them in office. The membership is no longer part of the silent majority who play nice and get along while getting screwed by anyone with a loud voice and an agenda. We will no longer allow anyone to piss down our back and tell us it's raining. And we like guns too.

Default French couple dies hiking New Mexico trail, but family camera leads sheriff to dehydrated boy: 'He could have been the victim as well'

My daughter hikes that area, frequently.

The desert is an unforgiving place. The dry heat makes folks think they don't need to take along water, as their sweat evaporates so quickly, they don't realize just how dehydrated they are. Plus, if they started out early in the morning, the temperatures were probably pretty nice.

Quote:
A New Mexico deputy who grabbed a dead woman's camera looking for clues made a life-saving discovery.

She had a 9-year-old boy with her, turning a grim recovery operation into a frantic search Tuesday afternoon at White Sands National Monument, 15 miles southwest of Alamogordo.

A challenging hiking trail in the New Mexico desert where temperatures soared past 100 degrees claimed the lives of two French tourists.

But while Park rangers were too late to save the couple, authorities rescued the dehydrated boy, according to the National Park Service.

The woman's body was discovered about 1 1/2 miles from the Alkali Flat trail head at 5:15 p.m. Unsure exactly what happened, an Otero County Sheriff's deputy began looking through her camera and realized she wasn't alone.

You never travel in a desert area without plenty of water. Even if you are just driving through with no plans to stop. Shit happens. No water makes shit happen faster in a deadly way.

Water is just too heavy to carry, I'll wait until we find a drinking fountain out here.

Too civilized to understand the desert.

I've been to White Sands in the summer. The sand doesn't feel all that hot as it reflects the heat which makes it deceiving.

Damn that is sad, real sad for the kid. Saint Johns river here is kind of fool proof for navigation. But people buy a boat with no idea what their doing and head out.
Lot of side creeks and waterways on the swampy side. They explore get stuck, lost and the search is on.

Big difference in elevation between most of France and the White Sands monument area.
