TRIPLE BARRELED shotgun
TRIPLE BARRELED shotgun from 1891. The gun was built by Edinburgh gun makers John Dickson & Son
Anyone familiar with this shotgun? I can't recall ever having seen one before. |

Pretty thing, probably a bit heavy too.
Wonder if it qualifies as a "Drilling?" Most barrels I've seen on a Drilling were seven. Heavy SOB! |

Wow. Like to see more of that.
I have seen pics of a 4 shot double barrel from England, I think.

43,000 pounds? That thing will only go up in price! Glad it wasn't destroyed in the Aussie gun roundup! |

Well if it was a 12 or even 20 I'd give $150 for it. But 16 maybe $50.

I think a side by side 12 with a 20 or .410 centered underneath would be very desirable, but I really don't use shotguns at all. It would be a curio at most.
The one in the OP would best grace a tycoon's collection in a humidity controlled glass case. Too valuable for much of anything else.

I do use shotguns. Which is kind of strange, I guess, since I was called a rifleman for years . I would really like a drilling, SxS 12 with a 30-06 below. But I'd have to sell one of the grandkids. Of course a SxS 30-06 with a 12 below would be really cool too.

Very classy. I love round actions.
The Austrian gunmakers in Ferlach typically make a lot of drillings, virlings and other multi-barrel guns. A few links: http://www.fanzoj.com/en/gunroom/cus...les/index.html http://www.ferlachguns.com/
