Welcome to the site where the owners and members have had it with playing "nice" and being "inclusive" and "tolerant" of points of view that are destroying the fabric of what made this country great. The members here are sick and tired of politicians of all parties lying, deceiving, stealing, and pretending they are doing it all for the good of the country while selling out to special interests who have the set goal of destroying this country. We have had enough of career politicians who use their office only for personal gain, and who refuse to listen to the people who put them in office. The membership is no longer part of the silent majority who play nice and get along while getting screwed by anyone with a loud voice and an agenda. We will no longer allow anyone to piss down our back and tell us it's raining. And we like guns too.

Default Himalayan tarh

So, I just recently learned about these goats and that they live in New Mexico. Not only that, they are found in the area where I like to go off-roading and picnicking and where I cut my Christmas tree every year.

You don't need a permit to hunt them, but their season is from January to March and is only in a small area.

According to my research, these goats are ungulates (like deer) and can get up to 300 lbs. That's a goodly amount of meat - if it is edible. I'm thinking if it was good eating, the state would have regulated their hunting, though.

Either way, when I get a break, I think I'll go see if I can at least spot some to see what they look like in person. It'll make a nice weekend camping trip.

I never had any idea they were around. You've got me very interested though.

It would be fun to go out and just glass for them. From what little I have been able to find out about them, is they are on the east side, or the rough side, of Mt. Taylor, in and around Water Canyon. That information was from 2011, so they have probably spread out even further by now.

When I first saw Water Canyon, I thought it was the one down near Magdalena. Didn't know there were two of them.
