Got the brakes fixed on the Silverado yesterday ($58 for parts, complete rear axle brake job). My son & I spent half the day fixing them in Zero degree temperatures.... At least the wind wasn't blowing until we were almost done.
Radiator in the Yukon will be replaced once it warms up a bit ($150 + coolant). I'm not gonna deal with it and coolant in these cold temps. Last night and this morning, my son sent me a couple links from Craigslist for parts I still need for the Yukon, from when I smoked that deer back in Nov. Brush guard ($150), & bumper ($50)..... Contacted both parties and they'll hold them for me until Sunday when I'll have some free time to go get them. Just need to find a grill now. I've had enough of Winter! I just wish that it'd warm up and Spring would come sooner than normal. I wanna get the body parts replaced on the Yukon and I really NEED to get the bike out for some badly needed two wheel, 70 mph therapy. |

This entire winter has been the worst one for me, in a very long time. If it isn't one thing, it's another.........

Well, you could move down here. You may run over a gator or a rattler but never a deer...

My luck, I'd hit a gator and it'd launch me into the air or a rattler would bite a tire and I'd roll the dang thing and kill myself.
Oh and the "Love Bugs" play hell with vehicle body paint. |

That's a string of bad luck you've had this winter. It reminds me of a few winters ago when my wife went out to the garage and found that her truck wouln't start. I tried myself and there was no electrical whatsoever... not even a clicking or buzzing sound...just dead. I opened up the hood to find the engine electrical harness looked like it was shredded by a pack of marauding mice! Those rotten little bastards! I sent her away in my car and took the day off doing my favorite thing -- - electrical repairs. Fuck me. I spent 2-3 hours soldering & heat shrinking about 40 wires. Everything worked fine until I heard my wife's bitching the following morning. I opened up the hood (AGAIN) and yup... you guessed it.... fucking little bastards chewed the same God damned wires. I spent another few hours and got it going again. I bought mice traps, poison, and those sticky things and pasted a few right in the engine compartment. Next morning, I found a little rascal stuck in the goo paper and very carefully pulled it out and placed him on the floor so I could flatten him with my 12lb maul. God, that was satisfying.

Friday before Father's Day: I was at work and my daughter calls me wanting to know where the keys to the Yukon were and that she needed to borrow it. I had rode my bike to work that morning, but had the keys to the Yukon on my carabiner.
I get home that evening to find out that her and my son had came over and replaced the bumper and deer catcher and did a couple other small things that heeded to be done on it. Unfortunately, my son had forgotten about the fender I had bought, so that didn't get changed out too. Today: I picked up a used grille for $65 including tax. All I gotta do it scuff it up with fine sandpaper and hit it with a rattle can. Then Mike & I can change out the fender and replace the grille with this one and then the Yukon will FINALLY be fixed! Well, except for the cowl induction style hood I'm gonna order for it. |

My trucks (the Silverado & Yukon), run good. The bike runs awesome (when it isn't raining. ).
Work is going very well and we're busier than hell right now. As of this weekend, come Monday, I don't expect to see a day off for at least the next 45 days. My relationship with the daughter has been 'repaired'. I'm keeping up with the bills and have a few extra bucks each week. My marriage is going down the drain like a turd in the toilet. At this point, I don't much care about that. So yeah! Life is good! |

Found a used grille on Thursday after work and cleaned it up that evening.
Taped off the chrome and marker lights and got it painted yesterday morning. Installed it yesterday afternoon. |
