Tin Foil Dinners
Hamburger, canned peas, canned corn, canned taters, cheese, onion, squash and whatever else wrapped up in foil and put on a charcoal grill or open fire. It's fun to let everyone make their own.

Salmon.
chop up some black olives and tomatoes, place on the meat side of the salmon, add salt, pepper, sprinkle some olive oil and wrap in aluminum foil skin down, leave room for steam, place on grill for a few minutes and enjoy.

A large sweet onion with a few cuts in it to allow olive oil, Worcestershire sauce and butter to seep inside is a tasty side for a foil cook out.

several whole garlic cloves;
3 or 4 Yukon Gold potatoes cut into small cubes; One onion cut into wedges; olive oil; pinch of kosher salt; fresh ground black pepper; several sprigs of fresh rosmarry; roll up in foil and cook over coals until the potatoes are soft. You can add a chicken breast or two to the packet and pour on some white wine. |

Ever cook your tinfoil dinners on a car engine block?
I used to cook my lunches on the engine of my drill rig - double wrap whatever it is in tinfoil and place on the engine. Different places on the engine are hotter than others. I have yet to try this while driving cross country, but I recall a website I read several years ago that had recipes for even steak and potroast - and driving times for cooking them.

Did canned chili, stew and a couple other things in a basket I made that sat above the exhaust manifold in a Mack F700L. Don't ask how I know, but don't open the lids completely, just a couple small vent holes are sufficient... Never tried anything any more elaborate than that, though. That cruise control pork tenderloin sounds yummy.

My parents use to do hobo potatoes on the campfire in foil that I still have found memories of. Myself I can't figure out why anyone would put most things in foil that they grill @ home. I thought grilling was about cooking over a nice bed of coals for a char or getting some smoke.
