I feel this guys did nothing but put a target on not only their backs, but their families too.
But... our side will have to begin organizing at some point. |

I know a few rough & ready gentlemen who are 55+...and would still be ready & able to answer the call if needed.

If you aren't on any "lists" by now, you should be ashamed of yourself.

The most effective of snipers did not "run with a pack", but were individuals who were accomplished at stealth. Like others... I am past the age of most effective CQC. But... you know? The skill set from decades past is rather like riding a bicycle... And the socio camo... who is more likely suspect? The strapping young banger type? Or the decrepit 70 year old coot who seems to crab walk sideways with his ailments? Besides... when it comes to genuine "fuck'em up" capability... having knowledge of the "armament" from the aisles of the local Safeway... who woulda thunk it? Quote:

Speaking of skill sets being like riding a bicycle...
It was a few years ago. My daughter wanted to take her friends to a paintball place for her birthday - her being in JRROTC at the time. We had a little birthday party at the picnic tables outside the paintball fighting area, and it looked kind of fun to me. So, I went and rented a paintball gun and gear and figured I'd play a few rounds with the kids. Next thing I know, "IT" kicked in and I'm running an Infantry fire squad on the paintball course. Took me all of maybe 30 seconds to fall back into things and me and those teen aged girls along with some little kids were decimating every team that challenged us. All because we were shooting-moving-communicating under my direction. It wasn't until a group of Marines came out against us that we were challenged. We did wind up getting over half of them before they got us. We all had a lot of fun that day. Yeah, the two-way range out there didn't kill you for screwing up, but damned if those paintballs don't let you know you've been hit - pretty much guaranteed a painful bruise if you do screw up. Does that mean I want to go into combat with teenaged girls and little kids? Nope. Just means that some skill sets just don't disappear with time - they just go dormant until needed. |

If you can run a platoon of teen age girls against those who take themselves seriously? One might be of the impression that with others of a certain skill set you might complicate the day for those of a nefarious intent. Unless you were a paper pushing O-type, if they pinned a CIB or CAR to your chest, when you survived your time on the 2-way range... you became a dangerous impediment to The Revolution. |
