My favorite holster is the Quick Draw by Tagua for my Glock 23/27. Pancake style leather. Holds close to the body and rides a little high, which I like.

Kind of comes down to how much do you want to spend, and what kind of retention do you want?
I have and use Versacarry (low priced, but good quality - How do they do it?), DeSantis, El Paso Saddlery, Hunter, Triple K, Bianchi, and others. What I don't use are the nylon cloth holsters. They are too squishy for my taste.

I had a buddy who was a master leather worker, but he got dead. Always thought that I could make him a lot of money if I could promote some of his holstery.

They are just a couple miles from me. They built a holster for my S&W 500 (4" barrel). Matched it up with one of their belts... always good for a few dropped jaws when you are carrying a 500 S&W as your CCW... in a hip holster! lol "Oh, you want a 'quick draw' holster," she says when I told her what I wanted. Not really, but... it certainly comes up fast enough, thank you very much. As Sanders mentions in the thread on belts... the belt is just as important as the holster. A stiff belt makes carrying concealed ever so much easier, even with "an elephant gun"/"piece of heavy artillery". {edit} My ParaOrdnance P14/45 has been my daily carry for the past quarter century; I just carried the 500 S&W a few times to fuck with people's minds. It really does make a M29/629 look like a sissy bitch gun in comparison. |

This dumb ass state sez you can’t carry larger than .45 and it has to be hollow point. I’m thinking a .50 is probably already big enough around. Constitutional Carry on the 1st. Wonder if they’ll drop that ridiculous caliber limit.
