Welcome to the site where the owners and members have had it with playing "nice" and being "inclusive" and "tolerant" of points of view that are destroying the fabric of what made this country great. The members here are sick and tired of politicians of all parties lying, deceiving, stealing, and pretending they are doing it all for the good of the country while selling out to special interests who have the set goal of destroying this country. We have had enough of career politicians who use their office only for personal gain, and who refuse to listen to the people who put them in office. The membership is no longer part of the silent majority who play nice and get along while getting screwed by anyone with a loud voice and an agenda. We will no longer allow anyone to piss down our back and tell us it's raining. And we like guns too.

Default Router crapped out

I'd been expecting it for a few weeks, and had purchased a replacement. Finally, this morning it would not connect to the internet.

I unplugged it and hooked up the new one and was ready to go in about 20 minutes - after I reconfigured all the wireless devices in the house.

The new one is a Century Link C-1000A. I don't know who makes them, but I sure notice a speed difference over the old one.

My old wi-fi network was named, "Sanders".

The new one is named, "FBI Surveillance Van".

I use the one Comcast gave me for one reason; Should they decide to change the standards they have to give me a new one. Already happened once. Just make sure you turn off the Free signal it puts out for Xfinity Hotspot.

I bought mine at Best Buy.

But no, I don't have any other brands at home or work. I only use the phone company brand modem.

We bought our own routers, cheaper that way. No obligations.

I bought my own modem and router. Don't need another bill. The amount you save in a year will buy you another one and have $20-$30 change. If it lasts longer than a year it's additional money you've saved.

I agree. We use Netgear routers and have great success with them. The power company has wifi built into the fiber converters, but it's off by default and they want several dollars a month to activate it. Plus, they aren't all that great.
