AIM has Chinese Type 56 SKS rifles
For what it's worth I thought that some here may have an interest. I've seen them for sale for a lot less but that was a long time ago.
Actually they do have some historical value since slick willie was involved in blocking their import during his regime. http://www.aimsurplus.com/product.as...+7.62x39+Rifle

Also the older ones are made of Russian parts and are really good shooters. If I had the ready cash there would be one less in stock...

I hate SKS but I like the type 56. Still a good price at 300 bucks.

The thing I don't like about it is the stock was made for a midget.

I've seen a number of those Chicom SKS rifles popping up in gun shops in my area over the last 6 months or so. All of them looked like they'd been used for batting practice w/ rocks...stocks dinged, dented, cracked, etc.. Slathered in dark brown, crusty cosmo as well. For the asking price I'll take a pass.

Y'all don't shoot the messenger. I post these "deals" for members that are new to collecting C&R firearms.
I am new to collecting compared to many of you guys, less than twenty years for me. The new generation of collectors are paying prices relative to the times. The days of under $100 long guns are over. The quality of what is available may not be as good as what we were able to buy but at least some are still coming in at an affordable price. I don't believe that that diminishes their historical value. I have the same sentiments as RetVet about the huge import marks on firearms that are available. That should be incentive for new collectors to seek out "bring home" firearms and pay a higher price to us older collectors that decide to "thin the herd" for firearms that aren't defaced with import marks. |

You are right. Because of the nanny gov't we can't get many of those fine old military pieces into the US anymore. What's going to what seems to be an outrageous price today will be even more expensive a decade or two from now. |

At the rate things are going in the US, 300 bucks for a chewed-up Chinese SKS might seem like a good deal a few years from now. |

I let my C&R expire years ago. Not too much on the market that excites me.
