I also started to see ways in which employees were "milking the clock" and getting paid for hours in which they didn't work. I spoke to commanders and officers of other posts. The best advice I ever heard was from a guy a couple hours North of here. His post was a disaster. It was bleeding money and on the verge of collapse. He and a group of guys took over and turned things around almost overnight. The first thing they did is fire all the employees and go 100% volunteer. He said you wouldn't have believed the amount of money that was walking out the door. |

I've heard more than once that old veterans should go scruffy looking and not shower and then pass yourself off as a homeless person. Hospitals can't refuse to treat you, and you walk out the door when they try and bill you. Or call yourself an illegal alien.
Freaking crime it's gotten this bad. |

I clearly remember the so called, "death lists" that some(?) VA hospitals were keeping to avoid treating veterans. The VA beaurocrats that Trump booted out the door who were behind it and also the 800+ unqualified and scamming VA employees, who thought they had..."the moral high ground," and were untouchable.

One of my very best friends Ralph recently turned 89 years old, he's hard of hearing and legally blind. He lives alone in the woods in a cabin that he built. He was in the Navy and the National Guard.
The friend that introduced me to Ralph works offshore 8 weeks on 4 off. His brother and sister in law have been godsend to Ralph. Lisa has been figuring out how to get him what he deserves. She has gotten Ralph disability benefits increased to 80% from 30%. I was talking to Lisa the other day an she said she thinks he will soon be getting 100% from the work she has put in on Ralph's behalf. We all know that Ralph one day will no longer be able to care for himself. Lisa has found a veterans home for him when he is ready. Every old veteran in America should be fortunate enough to have a Lisa helping them along. |
