$25,000 Ithaca Trench Gun
I've never owned one of these but I'll venture to say it's probably over-priced by about $24,000. It's even missing the original buttplate:

Unless it can be traced and documented to having been in action, which does not look like.

It would have to have proven to be Audie Murphy's shotgun, or maybe George Patton's.

Then maybe? Hell I say around $3,000 is the most I would even think about forking over.

I have the Remington M11 my great Uncle carried in Korea. It has the flaming bomb on the barrel, and the hunting scenes engraved on the receiver. The Army first issued them in WW2, so it could have seen action then, too.
$25k for a shotgun? Maybe if it says, "Perazzi" on the barrel somewhere.

I recall my old man saying a number of Marine grunts he served with in the Pacific were issued with the military Ithaca 12 gauges. Apparently they were effective in dealing with Mr Moto at close ranges in the jungle, especially during ambushes.

Lot 3543: Ithaca Model 37 Trench Shotgun Rock Island Auction.
This is an extremely rare WWII military trench shotgun that was manufactured by the Ithaca Gun Company for the US Army, circa 1943/44. This is probably the rarest of the WWII US Army trench shotguns and probably only second to the rarest of all the trench shotguns, the WWI Remington Model 10 trench shotgun
Sold For $20,700. https://www.rockislandauction.com/de...trench-shotgun Rock Island is where the big boys buy their toys. $$$$ If I hit the lottery I am hanging out their. 44044 you come with me help me carry the loot. Article says the WWII and Korean era not many were produced? Vietnam Ithaca started stamping them out again. Guess the price is not that far off but damn I would not pay it. |

So another Ithaca riot gun sold for 20,700 at Rock Island. I would not pay that kind of loot even if I was Trump rich.
