AVIATOR!
I need a prop control knob for my left prop(I dont think left or right matters). My Baron is a 1977 model. Can you ask your a&p friend if he knows where I can get it? Beech is not making the part anymore and no one I have inquired with has the part.
Thanks |

Try D'Shannon Aviation, Or Beechcraft.org. Maybe Aircraft Spruce.

Superior Air Parts maybe. all my AP's have gone out of business, except my brother who doesn't work as a AP but a rocket scientist so he's out of the loop. We are even looking for a new guy for this year's annual inspection.

Oh, sorry, I'm slow today. My brother found a retired ATP who holds an inspector certificate, he said since my brother is an AP as long as we do all the physical work to his satisfaction, he'll inspect and sign us off for $50. He doesn't make a living from it but enjoys being around airplanes.

I wish you lived near TN I need a good mechanic to hire as a free lance. I am getting ass raped on parts prices by my FBO. The hourly rate is not bad but they mark up parts about 100 percent. I would also like to do owner assist maintenance. I figure it would reduce my cost by at least 50%.

Private aircraft are becoming a very expensive endeavor.
Unless you are into "Ultrulights." Not as comfortable as a cabin though. Maybe we could build a 1-1 radio controled model. Then climb in and play? |

The way things are going we may be the last of the dinosaurs. Parts prices are high, labor rates are high, fuel prices, insurance, tie down fees, overnight fees, landing fees, by the time you add it all you don't enjoy flying anymore.
