Welcome to the site where the owners and members have had it with playing "nice" and being "inclusive" and "tolerant" of points of view that are destroying the fabric of what made this country great. The members here are sick and tired of politicians of all parties lying, deceiving, stealing, and pretending they are doing it all for the good of the country while selling out to special interests who have the set goal of destroying this country. We have had enough of career politicians who use their office only for personal gain, and who refuse to listen to the people who put them in office. The membership is no longer part of the silent majority who play nice and get along while getting screwed by anyone with a loud voice and an agenda. We will no longer allow anyone to piss down our back and tell us it's raining. And we like guns too.

Default Colt Halts Production of Long Guns for the Retail Market

It's been coming. Colt is a shell of the company it once was.

Quote:
The long, difficult saga of Colt’s Manufacturing has taken another turn. Firearms distributer RSR Group has sent an email blast to their retail customers announcing that Colt will no longer produce long guns for the retail market.

They have always seemed to act like they were against civilian ownership of firearms, that's why I won't own one... Well that, and the fact that I can get a better PSA for half the money.

Colt M4 for sale $10,500, brand new, never been fired, I'll even throw in four Magpul mags.

Just kidding.

Colt has been doing everything possible over the last quarter century or more to put themselves out of business. Today they're about as relevant as a Ford Edsel to the US gun market.

I grew up in Conn. with Colt in my backyard and Winchester and the others in my front yard. I really don't think Colt is against civilian ownership of weapons but rather here is my .02 on the problems they have.

-UNION. and their skilled labor. I talked to an exec. their and they can't move because their skilled labor won't move with them. They outsourced parts to save $$ and the union threatened to shut the factory down.

-TAXES. Socialist Conn. taxes are frigging killing them. Ruger left, Marlin left, Mossberg left they all friggng left except old Colt.

-SATURATION. ARs can be had so cheap a bit lower and their almost free.

Are Colts good quality ARs? Without question. If your parachuting into Iraq with the 82nd Airborne get a Colt. Going to the range with the guys and want to show em how to hit a dime at a hundred yards?
Get a $600 PSA a quality scope and save $1,400 and I betcha you hit that dime.
Just Tims .02 what say yall.

When you can buy a copy for $395.00 why manufacture the original? You do have a point.

The key though Phil in the article I posted is the word "Outsourcing." PSA gets most all their barrels and parts from LWRC which has a contract for military barrels for the govt.
Now I am not knocking the quality of Colt. What I am saying is where would Colt have been getting those parts from and stamping "Colt" on your $2,000 weapon?
I know the guys well over here near me who manufacture great lowers for ARS. Not a lot of companies are making them.
You want that brand X for $300 with the big boy name on it? Have at it mine is sitting in the box right next to it, same lowers, for $39.95 out the door.
Stop by I will take yah on a tour and show yah.

I have an engraver. I can put anything I want on mine, including a pony with an arrow in his mouth.

Now, a Python - that's a different story altogether. I bet Colt could get a pretty good shot in the arm if they'd bring that one back instead of the Cobra, like they did.

Their customers have been begging them to bring back the Python, but they steadfastly refuse.

Brownell's makes and sells a better AR-15 in several retro styles. Buy one of those.

Brownell's may be a few pennies higher on the purchase chart but they not only have everything you could need they demand quality with their products.
