The World's most Powerful Pistol – '1847 Walker Revolver'
The iconic Colt 1847 Walker Revolver was the game changer of the old west. Ian from Forgotten Weapons takes a look at an authentic Colt 1847 Walker Revolver, perhaps best known today as Clint Eastwood’s weapon in The Outlaw Josey Wales. Did you know that this massive cap-and-ball revolver was the most powerful revolver until the modern .357 Magnum cartridge was invented? That truth is certainly quite impressive. At the time, the Colt 1847 Walker Revolver would have been unlike anything ever experienced before. The massive .44 caliber revolver was meant for taking out mounted opponents on horseback, or the... http://americanshootingjournal.com/t...lker-revolver/ ------- Great article about the iconic "Horse Pistol."

I had a replica that rode under my seat for a while. Its name was, "Mr. Nasty".
My little brother pulled it once, when some bikers decided they were going to teach him a lesson. A lesson was learned that day, but they were ones who learned it.

Hmmm...been thinking of ordering one of those... or a 3rd model Dragoon's pistol...for awhile. A replica.
Or Another 7" bbl, 1873, cavalry model Colt, in .45 LC. I had one from Cimmeron when you could still get them with a "distressed"...look. |

A .44 Magnum case was the best powder measure for the one I had. A level load of FFF was just right.

Years ago I had an 1860 Army, Colt replica. I didnt like shooting it because the handgrips were so small. Soldiers or men...must have been ...little...back then. |

Got a pair of them. They are a handful and heavy. I like the dragoons also. Been looking for replica dragoon with the stock attachments and rifle type rear sight.

I got Cimarron's new color catalog last week and have been drooling. I used to stock and sell a lot of their pistols back when I was doing the shows . They always have really nice stuff and still offer what they call their "Original finish." I can see they are going to be getting more of my business.

I bought a Colt 2nd model dragoon about 12 years ago (colt made replica built in the 1980's) and really enjoyed shooting it.......it came in a black cardboard foam lined cardboard box with sam colts photo on it.......i traded it to a friend who fancied himself a chicago "mountain man"
