Vintage Sniper
I'm into Swedes, the first a 1918 m/41B with a 1942 German Ajack scope sitting on it, the second an all matching 1912 m/41 with a Swedish AGA42 scope.
Both shoot lights out, the m/41B I have shot in competition. It will ring the birthday bell at 700 yards. Both 6.5X55.

Here's my m/38 by Husqvarna, the rarest of them all a 1944. Only 1969 made that year.
The Poyer, Kehaya book though useful has many errors in it, if your collecting Swedes Crown Jewels by Dana Jones is the Bible. I really don't care much for Mausers. And that ain't even all of them. Here's another great site for Swedes. http://dutchman.rebooty.com/ |

Back when these 6.5s were two-for-a-nickel, I made the mistake of buying just one. A 96-38 with a straight bolt. I was able to get a bent bolt from Numrich and that made a handy little shooter. I gave it to my daughter and that's the only center-fire rifle she shoots. Pistol calibers not withstanding.
I would like to pick up another one or two for myself, but the prices make me look at other toys. There's one for $425 on GA but it looks like it's been used for a tent pole. If you want one worth owning, it's $700+ after shipping and fees. There's a Bubba'd one that I'll pick up in 10 days or so if it's still there. I can live with the Bubba cause I really like the 6.5 cartridge. cerberus |
