Welcome to the site where the owners and members have had it with playing "nice" and being "inclusive" and "tolerant" of points of view that are destroying the fabric of what made this country great. The members here are sick and tired of politicians of all parties lying, deceiving, stealing, and pretending they are doing it all for the good of the country while selling out to special interests who have the set goal of destroying this country. We have had enough of career politicians who use their office only for personal gain, and who refuse to listen to the people who put them in office. The membership is no longer part of the silent majority who play nice and get along while getting screwed by anyone with a loud voice and an agenda. We will no longer allow anyone to piss down our back and tell us it's raining. And we like guns too.

gun Pitting two magnum revolvers against each other: .357 vs 44 (VIDEO)

Quote:
Just how big a difference is it between the two calibers when compared to similar loads from similar wheel guns?

Paul Harrell does the yeoman job of trying to stack the two classic revolver magnum calibers against each other by using commercially available loadings with 180-grain projectiles. To balance the guns, he uses a Smith & Wesson Model 29 in .44 and a companion S&W Model 686-6 in .357 — both big Smiths with 6-inch barrels.

Then comes Chrono data, followed up with a few spicier loadings more catered to the calibers’ performance envelope. And for the masses, there is a round of destructive testing against some $2 concrete cinder blocks and with gross combination targets made of fruit, meat, and fabric. The latter gets kinda nasty:

Oh JD for God sake that is so simple to answer. The 44 magnum is the most powerful handgun on Gods green earth. Dirty Harry stopped a freight train with the big iron. Made criminal bad guys wet their pants.
"Are you feeling lucky punk."
But great video and I was super impressed with the penetration of both rounds with the soft points hell even the hollows. Don't think I really would want to get hit with either of them.

Frigging A JD. .357s are for sissies. Real men pack heat with the devastating 44 mag. Dang weapon stops a Griz dead in its tracks.
When in doubt pull your .44 mag out.

Great video. ...and it's always nice to watch someone who shoots double action revolver well. I recently watched another of his videos comparing .44 magnum lever guns and 30-30 lever guns. That one was good too. I have one or more of all those guns, which made it more interesting.

BTW, I took this picture with my new phone. Not too bad. I do need to clean the fingerprints off my gun.

Same here.

I like the flat shooting, hard hitting round, but I can do a whole lot more with my .44.
