Welcome to the site where the owners and members have had it with playing "nice" and being "inclusive" and "tolerant" of points of view that are destroying the fabric of what made this country great. The members here are sick and tired of politicians of all parties lying, deceiving, stealing, and pretending they are doing it all for the good of the country while selling out to special interests who have the set goal of destroying this country. We have had enough of career politicians who use their office only for personal gain, and who refuse to listen to the people who put them in office. The membership is no longer part of the silent majority who play nice and get along while getting screwed by anyone with a loud voice and an agenda. We will no longer allow anyone to piss down our back and tell us it's raining. And we like guns too.

Machetes Corneta? I've had one made in Panama for the last 39-40 years maybe? Good steel, I even chopped down a large palm tree with it after a hurricane and palm trees are hard because of their fibrous nature.

Let me tell you, Cuba gained their independence from Spain with machetes. A Spanish sword is no match for one.

Didn’t the US help a little bit?

The Spanish were brutal murders,

I remember seeing a Spanish man standing

on a pile of skulls, in a picture, somewhere...

And they killed hundreds of thousands in

the Philippines too...

Oh heck, the US took over Cuba for a while .....I don't know that much of their history, but I know they did because some of my great-grandfather advertising was in English. Don't ask me for dates, I don't know. I do know they were under the Spanish crown for a while, I've read a document where the same great-grandfather applid for a trade mark to the governor and the governor sent the request to Spain, this was in 1895, then around 1900 or a few years thereafter US took over for a while, even one of the presidents there was US born...eventually becoming independent until 1959, then in 1962 Castro let the russians take over. Banana Republics all have a complicated history, even though Cuba was well advanced and business was booming.

I’m not that familiar with it either Sir

But I think it was called the Spanish

American War...

Remember the Maine and Teddy Rosevelt

and San Juan Hill comes to mind though...

Congress added a tax to the phone bills, back

then, to pay for the Spanish American War

They finally allowed it to expire a few years ago...

There, just looked it up:
Quote:
A series of rebellions during the 19th century failed to end the Spanish rule. However, the Spanish–American War resulted in a Spanish withdrawal from the island in 1898, and following three-and-a-half years of subsequent US rule, Cuba gained formal independence in 1902.

I bought several Coronetas and Imcasas from Sportsman's Guide in the 5 for $19.95 deals. I used my plasma cutter to reduce the blades to 14-16 inches which work best for me. Good quality.

One of the shortest wars in U.S. history at ten weeks.

One of the most one sided especially on water. Spanish navy on paper more powerful than U.S. navy had Pacific fleet destroyed in one morning.

Despite quick victory deficiency of .30-40 Krag-Jorgensen rifle/carbine system recognized. .30-06 developed in response to that tits on French vanilla ice cream superstar round 7x57mm Mauser often aspired to and never duplicated.

Need for modern machine gun also recognized after portability and flexibility of German machine guns versus elephantine Gatlings was demonstrated. Navy ahead of the game, Army found out they were horribly equipped.

A fictional version of this war played out in Heinlein’s last novel TO SAIL BEYOND THE SUNSET. The exaggerated length of the war should have been a clue that the story took place in an alternate timeline earth but since I knew then as much about it as the average American it didn’t kick my brain in the nuts until the Japanese bombed San Francisco. He never said if the Germans bombed Pearl Harbor.

I have five of those machetes too, they are safe from being used until I get my arm stapled back on.

I like knives and machetes. Got a bunch of knives and five machetes. Three Tramontina's a Gavalon and and a Coroneta.. The Gavalon is a shorter one, the other four are 18 inches or so long. They get used.
