Get her set up for screw in chokes. Then get a set and include a rifled choke, I've been thinking about that for awhile.

Strangely, I've always had a fondness for Bolt Action Shotguns.
That looks like a Good 'un! A Real good one, nice find! I say strangely because I always knew they were essentially single shots with a handy way to store extra shells, and actually slower than a break top. But there was just something about them. I think the only one I didn't sell before heading West was a Mossy with the 3 round tube mag in the stock and a 'select choke' darn handy for a bolt gun. Now I'm going to have to open a lot of cases and boxes to be sure it made the trip, then I'll have to re-lube and re-pack everything ... ah well time to do that anyhow. Gonna be royally steamed if it aint here! Imagine I'd play hell finding one like it out here, I doubt they were ever real plentiful in this neck of the non-woods. Regards, ... |

A buddy of mine has an old Mossy bolt scatter gun. That thing kicks like a mule! Fun to shoot though.

I love bolt action shotguns, I wish they made a .410 that used stripper clips.

Speaking of Mossy bolt actions. Had a buddy drop off a stock the other day. Seems the plastic grip that was on there wasn't the right one for the model he had and the pinky end of it finally broke off. Wanted to see if I could make him a new one out of something a bit more durable. Made a template of the area it's bedded in and started with a piece of 1/2" thick aluminum. Got a little finishing to do still, but it looks pretty good so far.

Well done, beats hell out of plastic, especially if you don't want it to break and the fact that it FITS makes a difference too!

Did a little more filing on it in a few places and got it put on. Once my buddy lets me know how it feels in his hand, and depending on what he wants, it'll either be blasted and left as is or matched to the rest of the metal.
