Is this the best pizzia in you state? You decide.
CONNECTICUT: FRANK PEPE PIZZERIA NAPOLETANA
Opened in 1925, Pepe’s is one of the oldest pizzerias in the United States. Owner Frank Pepe also popularized New Haven thin crust pizza and littleneck clams as a topping. He’s basically the George Washington of pizza. https://www.msn.com/en-us/foodanddri...tandhp#image=7 Pepe's and Sals up the street in the Italian section of New Haven have the best I have ever eaten. The old Italians who could not afford to get new fangled gas ovens kept their old coal and coke burning ones. Now their millionaires people line up for hours to get their brick oven pies from their almost 100 yr. old ovens. Find your state see if you have tried that pizza.

The very best pizza I ever had was at a joint in Buffalo NY, place looked like a barn but that old man made the best I ever had, that was over 40 years ago so I doubt it if the place is even there, I can't remember the name or where it was. The absolute worst pizza I had was in Florence Italy, go figure that one out.

I'm still testing them all. By the time I get through them, I'll have forgotten what the earlier ones tasted like and have to start all over again. It's a vicious cycle, like Sisyphus and his rock.

The best was on the SeaSide, NJ Boardwalk, 30 years ago. Now they have a bunch of chili-shitters working there and it sucks.
The worst was two places; a village in Northern Italy near the Alps and a joint in Plymouth, NH that had a sign outside that read; 'BEST PIZZA NORTH OF THE BRONX'....Yea, right. I flipped through 4th's link and I just don't understand all the burnt(black)crust pies. I've taken to making my own. I get a ball of dough from Publix(a supermarket), top with cow's milk mozzarella, ground bison, homemade sauce and grated provolone. Deep-dish style. cerberus |

Wife and I went to our favorite pizza joint tonight and had our usual.
Thin crust with garlic infused EVOO, artichoke, lump crab meat, shrimp and Romano cheese.
