Not really - the Chronicle has two pages of comics to amuse me, and the Red Sox won.
You see, if either the Red Sox or the Astros win, I can smile...just as broadly as I do when the Yankees lose. But on days when both the Sox and 'Stros lose and the Yanks win, I can shrug my shoulders and let the puppies love on me knowing that tomorrow is another day.

Another late inning, come from behind Yankee victory, primarily on the shoulders of two Yankee rookies. Second straight over the Mets...
In other news, "Babe Ruth" Ohtani continues to demonstrate his fragility, going on the disabled list. "Babe Ruth"? Yeah, right, Bob Costas, you simpering little midget brained dumbass. Babe Ruth was a workhorse, playing the outfield on days when he wasn't pitching, no "designated hitter" to protect his fragile little ass, or in this case, his arm. Made the DL only 1/3 of his way through his rookie season, even with limited work protecting him. Does Ohtani have natural talent? Undoubtedly. But a lock on Cooperstown? Get the fuck outta here, dumbass. The Astros? Well... best be careful that you don't get overtaken by the Angels, as well as the Mariners. The Angels are gaining on you. Don't want to be #3 in a two horse race (wild card entries into the playoffs). Astros are 5-5 in the last ten games, and .500 ball is going to get you an early seat on the couch to watch the better teams in the "second season". Seattle and Texas are 7-3 over the last ten games. .700 ball gets you into the playoffs. The Red Sux? Have the 1st wild card position well in hand, and are 6-4 over the last ten games. .600 ball is another playoff winning rate. The struggling Yankees? Best record in MLB, and are 9-1 over the last ten games. .700 ball... ON THE SEASON… and the only team in the MLB with less than 20 losses, at 18. The Red Sux have 21 losses, Houston has 25 losses. Not looking good for the hapless Astros. |

Only time I lose any sleep is when I watch the day's game after midnight on the YES broadcast, rather than suffering through the insipid blathering of the vacuous midget twinkee Bob Costas. On network broadcast games when that dumbass is the announcer, the sound gets turned OFF, and then I re-watch the game later so that I can listen to Kay, Singleton, Cone, O'Neill, etc... guys who actually have a clue, rather than some miniature narcissist with his head buried up his pompous ass.

Is that the same Costas that tried his hand at pontificating on pro golf matches?
If so, he failed at that as well. |

I suspect I'd need a heat shield if I were to ask. Plus the 1500 miles that separate us.
I have a feeling I know Merc's probable tone, if not his actual words. |

Tommy John surgery for "Babe Ruth" Ohtani? "Grade 2 sprain" at the moment - partial tear in the UCL. Apparently had a Grade 1 when purchased. Betcha don't see this fragile player again until 2020. A flash in the pan don't qualify for Cooperstown, regardless of the non-stop fellatio of the Costas cunt. |
