Some scumbag was using my debit card number again
I got a call from my bank. The bank declined the attempted purchase and notified me. Now they have to send me a new card.
Damn thieving scumbags.

I had my credit card number stolen, for the third time, three weeks ago. This time I knew what happened. A popular internet ammo vendor was hacked.

Wherever there's a dollar, there's somebody trying to steal it. I'm still stuck on this idea that most times, for all the work it takes to get a dollar dishonestly, you can get at least two, honestly... plus you don't go to jail.

I wish I could catch them in the act.
I think I caught one, one time, the cashier at Pinch A Penney pool place, I gave her my AMEX and she dropped it behind the counter and it looked quite deliberate so I actually went behind the counter myself and checked everything make sure she didn't have a pocket scanner there and told her, if my credit card was copied I was coming back to arrest her, I never saw her again though. Restaurants are where it happens the most. never take your eyes off your credit card

I am starting to use cash at most places now. It just isn't worth the risk anymore.

I like cash, something about growing up poor.
Make sure you DO have some cash, at all times. When I was younger, there were laws against 'vagrancy.' You didn't have any money, or means of support, you were thrown in jail. Some places, you were even sent to "The Farm" to work off your fine. Back then it was a $5.00 minimum, to have in your posession. You can imagine how many 'vagrants' there were during the depression. |

My x has been using my debit card to buy phone time and send money to two of our adult children in prison for a drug problem. Scares the hell out of me giving out my card # and security code over the phone.

Bears Pogo's bank seems to have caught it? This may be because of unusual purchasing or failure to have his pin or zip?
After 3 or more attempts at use and failure to identify, lenders will shut the card down. Florida is the scam capitol of the world, guess the other states are catching up? They copy and make a new card, easy enough. Then to use the credit function again easy enough, they are usually on camera. Not easy. If they investigate, which they usually do not, someones pictures shows up. Companies just do a write off. See those high interest rates and bank service fees? People who pay their bills, pay for the scum doggies. Companies just pass the costs on..
