Found a source for used brass
I went to a local indoor range and picked up some brass, this afternoon. Well, they had it picked up and sorted.
They sell it by the pound at $2.50/lb They had: .45ACP, .38 Sp, .357, 9mm, .380, .40 S&W and 5.56 brass. They say 10 lbs of .45ACP is around 1,000 rounds. Only problem is they don't sort it by large and small primer. I got 5 lbs .45 and 5 of 9mm. Got the .45 in the tumbler, already.

I notice my local indoor range had assorted brass laying around the dumpster out back.

Get a bucket of it to spread on your lawn. People with metal detectors love it when an area is so completely seeded that they can't find a thing.

I put up 500 .44 Magnum rounds, and thought I was done then found another box of 100 empty cases.
After I get them loaded, I'll start on the .45 ACP brass. I think I'm a gonna need more bullets. At least the .45's use less powder. |

HAHAHAHAHAHA! I had a wood burning stove to heat my house so I burned EVERYTHING! Tin cans, all sorts of metals, wood with nails in it, if it fit it burned. OK, NOT rubber! Threw an old toilet plunger that was rotten in and had every window and door opened up in sub-zero weather to air the place out! Talk about STINK! Dumped the ashes all over the two acres and when the bastards showed up they thought they had found a tank buried in the yard! The top couple feet was so full of rusting metal they finally gave up looking. They never did find the tank either, and I just waved and laughed the entire time.

The local scrap metal dealer has/had all the once fired brass in 55gallon barrels from the local PD's.
