Welcome to the site where the owners and members have had it with playing "nice" and being "inclusive" and "tolerant" of points of view that are destroying the fabric of what made this country great. The members here are sick and tired of politicians of all parties lying, deceiving, stealing, and pretending they are doing it all for the good of the country while selling out to special interests who have the set goal of destroying this country. We have had enough of career politicians who use their office only for personal gain, and who refuse to listen to the people who put them in office. The membership is no longer part of the silent majority who play nice and get along while getting screwed by anyone with a loud voice and an agenda. We will no longer allow anyone to piss down our back and tell us it's raining. And we like guns too.

The reason Walker are so rare is the cylinders blew up fairly regularly. The soft steel (think the same steel nails are made of, and Colt used that steel for a LONG time! S&W had a terrible time with the .357 because that was the same steel their cylinders were made out of too, low carbon steel, or the stuff nails are made of. S&W finally had to use decent steel for the .357 Mag cylinders so they didn't blow up on the first round) and large powder charge (40 grs., or more than rifles at the time used) blew a lot of them up. Period literature of the day kept commenting on that. And yes, until the .357 Mag came along, they were the most powerful revolver ever made.

The 1848 Remington is my choice, replicas by Uberti and Pietta can use the Howell .45 cartridge conversion. Use some cowboy action reduced loads or change the cylinder to shoot cap and ball. Makes for a versatile gun

Horse Pistol, holsters were hung across the saddle. Usually in pairs.
I made a belt holster for my walker, didn't take long to say 'forget it.'

Personally, I like the 1858 Remington.44 as you can get modern replicas that you can convert to cartridges by using a a Howell conversion kit
