Welcome to the site where the owners and members have had it with playing "nice" and being "inclusive" and "tolerant" of points of view that are destroying the fabric of what made this country great. The members here are sick and tired of politicians of all parties lying, deceiving, stealing, and pretending they are doing it all for the good of the country while selling out to special interests who have the set goal of destroying this country. We have had enough of career politicians who use their office only for personal gain, and who refuse to listen to the people who put them in office. The membership is no longer part of the silent majority who play nice and get along while getting screwed by anyone with a loud voice and an agenda. We will no longer allow anyone to piss down our back and tell us it's raining. And we like guns too.

Default Been thinking about a Winchester 1873 rifle- UPDATED with pics.

I see Winchester is making them again plus a host of others. Not real sure I want one in 44-40 win though. I see them out there from Cimmeron in several calibers and brass frames, color case hardned and blued... I dunno...got to scratch my head. Originals are pricey but....

Get one in .44 mag to match your pistol.

Ah hell spend a few more bucks and get the real deal we can't take the damn money with us.
These guys must have a warehouse full of old weapons from some beat up to mint condition? Like mentioned here high prices but I found them to be pretty good on negotiating price and cutting a deal.

Well shit...when we kick...we can't take the toys with us either...

I been spending my money on blowjobs and hot pussy sex from college hardbellys... Any gorilla juice that is left in my gonads when I die ...is also wasted...

The notion that my immediate family will be pillaging my holdings of everything that they can loot...as soon as I am not living here...kinda pisses me off too.

But I am looking at them Winchesters.......

I've been told that my 'last wishes' won't be honored. So I've been doing what I want, with whom I wish, as often as I can. Only problem is the ladies that advertise around here are either mud puppies or junkies, so I find myself having to shop in the produce section of the local Publix. Meanwhile, I'm slowly selling off most of my toys.

They are available in .45 Colt as well..........its a lot easier to reload .45 colt compared to 44-40.....and .45 colt brass is easier to find and a lot more durable.

I dont enjoy reloading 44-40.....you have to lube the cases and the brass is so thin... i usually end up crumpling a few when i reload

I am not real interested in the 44-40 caliber....One of the reasons I am not pursuing an original.

I am beginning to focus on THIS in .45 LC. I REALLY like that finish.

From Cimmeron's website:

Quote:
Winchester’s 1873 rifle was the “Rifle that Won the West.” It was chambered in a new, more powerful cartridge, the .44-40—a .44 caliber bullet, propelled by 40 grains of black powder. However, a factor that really insured the success of the 1873 Winchester rifles was that Colt quickly offered its Peacemaker chambered in .44-40, as well. A cowboy could have both a lever-action rifle and his six shooter, and needed only one cartridge belt for both. Most Texas Rangers and every old West cowboy worth his salt carried 1873 rifles. Chappo, the son of Apache war chief Geronimo, packed an 1873. And Buffalo Bill carried an 1873 lever-action rifle along with a pair of .44-40 Colts in 1876 when he worked as an Army scout. This piece of rifle history is available in a variety of distinctive models including the Carbine Sporting Rifle.

I had a Cimarron 1873 in .45 for a few years. Sold it after the divorce to help fund my new house. It was a good gun and shot real nice.

Not sure which one my cousin has in .45 Colt, but he told me the bullets do "unusual" things to jackrabbits when you hit one broadside.
