Funny 4th...i was seriously thinking about buying an Uberti 1866 Winchester replica in 44-40 or .45 Colt
I have an original 1873 Winchester first model frame and a cardboard box filled with its parts waiting to restore....but in true hoarder fashion i never get around to finishing it.........i do need a new made replacement barrel for it and these seem exceptionally hard to find.....that is the stumbling block. |

Well, there's someone on a local gun board selling a Springfield trap door in .45-70 for $600. Comes with bayonet and sling.

The Winchester repros made by Miroku actually work. The Ubertis are a POS and need to be re-worked. Yes, I owned one. 1866 in 44-40 by Uberti. No, it did not work. I sold it to a machinst who spent about 150 hours rebuilding it.
