I could destroy that very quickly out there .....first the engraving would get all scratched rubbing against my belt buckle, then the sweat from my hands would stain the wood, next i would stumble on all the loose rocks out here , drop it and dent the brass receiver

Funny 4th...i was seriously thinking about buying an Uberti 1866 Winchester replica in 44-40 or .45 Colt

I have an original 1873 Winchester first model frame and a cardboard box filled with its parts waiting to restore....but in true hoarder fashion i never get around to finishing it.........i do need a new made replacement barrel for it and these seem exceptionally hard to find.....that is the stumbling block.

Ah hell same here buz. My good buddy gave me a load of Winchester 30/30 Europe only Golden Boy parts. One is a complete and just needs the barrel put on and some few authenticated parts to be ready to fire.
Ah hell one of these days I will get around to it.

Completing that gun is on my short list.......ill post a photo thread on its progress when i get the barrel.......this rifle will be a shooter....NOT a safe queen.

Well, there's someone on a local gun board selling a Springfield trap door in .45-70 for $600. Comes with bayonet and sling.

The Winchester repros made by Miroku actually work.

The Ubertis are a POS and need to be re-worked. Yes, I owned one. 1866 in 44-40 by Uberti. No, it did not work. I sold it to a machinst who spent about 150 hours rebuilding it.
