Welcome to the site where the owners and members have had it with playing "nice" and being "inclusive" and "tolerant" of points of view that are destroying the fabric of what made this country great. The members here are sick and tired of politicians of all parties lying, deceiving, stealing, and pretending they are doing it all for the good of the country while selling out to special interests who have the set goal of destroying this country. We have had enough of career politicians who use their office only for personal gain, and who refuse to listen to the people who put them in office. The membership is no longer part of the silent majority who play nice and get along while getting screwed by anyone with a loud voice and an agenda. We will no longer allow anyone to piss down our back and tell us it's raining. And we like guns too.

hey fellas! I jumped on a cheap 7mag before the hunt....got 4 inch groups with it, it wouldn't feed more than one round out of mag....

I threw a nice scope on it... vortex 4-16 I think....and nailed a cow elk first day/first hour!

80 yards, 150gr Core-Lokt..dropped it in ten yards. through the upper rib cage... pics to come!!

Mmmm,elk..it's What's for Dinner.

I would think the venerable 30-06 with a heavy bullet would do nicely as well.

I have 3 rifles in that caliber, no .308.

Good job Boince!

btw and fwiw, a check of the old history books shows that prior to the mid 1930's and the increasing popularity of the 30-06, the majority of the elk harvest in Oregon was accomplished with ....... Yup, 30-30. :eekL

Course that WAS before them Elks and Whitetails got their armor issued.

Good shootin bounce. I think elk meat is the best meat I ever tasted.

5knives that is interesting about the 30-30 hell that is a good round. Lot of NE deer hunters use it.
Watching a documentary on the Eskimos hunting in Alaska. They were using a 25-06 long range on reindeer. Filmmaker asked why that caliber? "Hell it is all we have."
They were eatin good so it must work?

I can still remember when the Eskimo's favorite caliber was the .22 Hornet.
Every specie of Alaskan big game was killed with it.
Including the big bears.
