Leaf Hopper
After church I mowed my yard. And I stopped to pick a stick that the dogs drug out into the yard. When I bent over to pick it up I noticed a cute little leaf hopper on a blade of grass. So I had to get my camera and take a picture of it.

Wow that is a cool looking little guy their Pogo. But strange the coloration as it does not seem to fit the natural patterns of nature for self preservation? I wonder if the colors represent some other poisonous insect telling predators to stay away?

see them all the time here, all sorts of colors.
they do bite once in awhile. it barely leaves a mark but feels like a tweezer pinch.
