Welcome to the site where the owners and members have had it with playing "nice" and being "inclusive" and "tolerant" of points of view that are destroying the fabric of what made this country great. The members here are sick and tired of politicians of all parties lying, deceiving, stealing, and pretending they are doing it all for the good of the country while selling out to special interests who have the set goal of destroying this country. We have had enough of career politicians who use their office only for personal gain, and who refuse to listen to the people who put them in office. The membership is no longer part of the silent majority who play nice and get along while getting screwed by anyone with a loud voice and an agenda. We will no longer allow anyone to piss down our back and tell us it's raining. And we like guns too.

It is a leucistic Goldfinch. His feathers are all fluffed up because of the temperature. A canary would never have survived last night - It got down to 21 f. and a 30-40 mph wind.

Here is a photo of him the other day with his fellow young finches.

I've seen birds like that in Cincy. They get a pass.

how big is it? the American Goldfinch is smaller than a canary, that's for sure. I'm not familiar with their resistance to cold though but I have only seen them in warmer climates.

They are about 2 1/2" - 3" from head to tail. We have lots of Goldfinches, Purple Finches, and Red Housefinches.

Canaries and Parakeets can't survive here except for the summer months. Even in the Summer months the wind can be tough for them and cause them to chill. Canaries are from a latitude that is about the same as Jacksonville, Fl. Parakeets are from the tropics in various parts of the world.

had lots of canarys this past summer.

they go crazy when the purple thistle flowers start drying up and the seeds come out.

now it's just blue jays, crows, doves, finchs and woodpeckers of all shapes and sizes, pileated woodpeckers that make crows look tiny.
